The Stray Notes’ first autumn performance took place in the dramatic setting of a floodlit Fountains Abbey. Singing in the atmospheric Cellarium during the Fountains By Floodlight festival is always a popular event in our calendar. It’s also a chance to introduce new songs and to perform some old favourites.
As ever, our set list was an eclectic mix featuring, among others, Mozart’s Lacrimosa alongside Bob Dylan’s To Make You Feel My Love, Coldplay’s The Scientist and Peter Gabriel’s Biko, as well as our latest songs, The Living Years by Mike and The Mechanics and the haunting In This Heart by Sinead O’Connor.
A large, appreciative audience, plus the vocal addition of some dogs, made our most recent visit to Fountains a night to remember.
