Celebration of community music at Royal Hall

Our first performance of 2025 saw The Stray Notes take to the stage at Harrogate’s Royal Hall along with seven other choirs to celebrate music in the community.

The Harrogate Community Choir Festival, which is organised by The Stray Notes, is now in its third year and featured singers from all over North Yorkshire. Joining us for the evening were the Daytones Harmony Chorus, Harrogate Male Voice Choir, Knot Another Choir, Love Pop Choir, The Ryelarks, The Skipton Choir and Yorkshire Voices.

Liz Linfoot, musical director of The Stray Notes, said: “There are so many groups of people in and around Harrogate, meeting up regularly to sing for the sheer pleasure of it. This festival is a wonderful opportunity for them to join forces to celebrate the power and joy of singing together.”

Each choir sang a selection of their favourite songs, with music ranging from pop and rock, to traditional folk and music from the shows, before coming together in the finale to sing the anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone.
