Liz Linfoot – Musical director
After studying music in Liverpool Liz taught in two Secondary Schools as Head of Music and became Director of the Liverpool Philhamonic training choir.
Since returning to York, she spent a year as Head of Music before deciding to specialise in Choral Education including as part of the York Minster/Minster School schools outreach programme.
Liz has run a number of community choirs in the York/Harrogate area. She now teaches at Killinghall CE Primary school and enjoys running the school’s junior Choir. She also runs a children’s church choir and “Singing Communities: Poppleton” (a daytime community choir) in her home village of Poppleton.
Liz has loved working with The Stray Notes choir over the last three years, conducting such enthusiastic and committed singers. She is looking forward to all the exciting singing plans we have to come!
Tim Farnhill – Accompanist
Tim plays the piano at our rehearsals and leads the band in our concerts. He also takes the odd rehearsals which puts a different slant on our choral development. Owner of the York Keyboard school, Tim also teaches flute and piano and provides a portfolio of music services mostly in and around York.
