Fundraising

Each year as a choir, we choose a charity to support through our fundraising efforts.

We aim to raise as much money as possible through raffles at our formal concerts, bucket collections at our more casual performances, social events and even contributions towards cake at our Saturday rehearsals.

2025-26 Charity

Our chosen charity for 2025-2026 is Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

https://www.yorkshireairambulance.org.uk/

The aim of Yorkshire Air Ambulance, since its inception in 2000, is to provide state-of-the-art emergency response air ambulances for the protection of human life across Yorkshire and
its environs.

YAA operate three state-of-the-art helicopters that have bespoke HEMS interiors and are based between two airbases, near Wakefield and Thirsk. The air ambulance helicopters fly seven days a week, 365 days a year: the average dispatch time being 3 minutes. Each has a highly qualified flying and medical crew to respond to those in urgent need and deliver emergency care. Last year 1,301 patients were treated for conditions from cardiac arrest to road traffic accidents.

It is an independent charity that receives no funding by the government or the NHS.

For every £1 donated during the last financial year, 81p was spent to meet its charitable purpose. We at Stray Notes are happy to be supporting this worthy cause.
